Booting in Tethered Mode (Mac Users)

This is tethered jailbreak so you have to run this small tetheredboot utility by following these steps.

• Download and Extract the tethered boot .zip file . [Download tetheredboot.zip]
• we need two files from the custom iOS 4.3.5 firmware namely:kernelcache.release.n90 and iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu. To do this, make a copy of your custom iOS 5.0 file that you created above, change the extension of this file from .ipsw to .zip, and then extract this .zip file.
  Now copy kernelcache.release.n90 file, and then copy iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfufiles which are found under /Firmware/dfu/.
  Move all these files, and tetheredboot utility to a new folder named “tetheredboot” on the desktop.

Commands

Turn off your iOS device, and start Terminal on OS X and run the following commands:

sudo -s

enter your administrator password, then:

/Users/Tech/Downloads/tetheredboot/tetheredboot
/Users/Tech/Downloads/tetheredboot/iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu
/Users/Tech/Downloads/tetheredboot/kernelcache.release.n90

You need to replace “Tech” with the name of the directory on your PC.
If the command given above does not work you can always try ‘tetheredboot -i ibss -k kernel’ instead of ‘tetheredboot ibss kernel’:

/Users/Tech/Desktop/tetheredboot/tetheredboot –i
/Users/Tech/Desktop/tetheredboot/iBSS.n90ap.RELEASE.dfu -k
/Users/Tech/Desktop/tetheredboot/kernelcache.release.n90

You should now see some code running in the Terminal window, at some point, it will ask you to enter DFU mode. Now follow the following steps to enter DFU mode:

• Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
• Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds

You device should now be in DFU mode
Now wait for your device to boot, Terminal at this point will be showing “Exiting libpois0n” message. After a short while, your device will be booted in a jailbroken tethered mode !

Booting in Tethered Mode (Windows Users)

Since this is a tethered jailbreak, therefore whenever your iOS device loses power, it will go into the dreaded Apple logo boot screen loop. To get out of that, simply run Redsn0w 0.9.8b4, uncheck “Install Cydia” and instead check “Just boot tethered right now” option and hit “Next” with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch connected to your PC (or Mac). And yes, you will have to do this every time when your device reboots or loses power.

WARNING: If you depend on UltraSn0w unlock, you must STAY AWAY from RedSn0w and stock iOS 5

"Lumia 900" transformed Nokia from other Smartphones..!

Nokia used the Consumer Electronics Show to hold a coming-out party for its new phone: the Lumia 900.

It is based on the Windows Phone platform, will use AT&T's 4G LTE network, and boasts a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen that's designed for rich media experiences, the company said at a launch event today in Las Vegas. (By comparison, the Apple iPhone's screen size is 3.5 inches.)

But the company's announcement wasn't as far-reaching or as detailed as some customers might have hoped: there's no word yet on on the Lumia 900's pricing or availability. And there was no news of tablets or the phone's availability on other carriers.

Will tablets eventually replace laptops?

For years, analysts have debated whether tablets will eventually replace laptops. Turns out that consumers largely believe they will--and the elderly are far more convinced of that fact than whippersnappers.

Polling company Poll Position, which surveyed 1,155 registered American voters last week, found that 46 percent of respondents believe tablets will eventually replace laptops. About 35 percent of those folks say that devices likeApple's iPad or the Amazon Kindle Fire won't replace notebooks. Nearly 20 percent of respondents had no opinion on the matter.

Although it's generally believed young people will drive the adoption of tablets, Poll Position's findings suggest that older people are more in love with their slates. Among those aged 18 to 29, nearly 49 percent expressed doubt that tablets can replace notebooks. That figure drops to just 37 percent among 30-to-44-year-olds and 30 percent for adults between the ages of 45 and 64. Only a quarter of the 65-and-over crowd doubt that tablets will reign supreme.

Men are more confident than women that tablets will replace notebooks, with 53 percent of males saying it'll happen, compared to 39 percent of females. In addition, Poll Position found that one-quarter of women have no opinion on the matter, compared to just 13 percent of men.

Just last week, research firm NPD DisplaySearch reported that 72.7 million tablets hit store shelves last year. That figure was easily overshadowed by notebook shipments, which rose to 187.5 million units. More germane to this subject, NPD DisplaySearch also predicted that by 2017, tablet shipments will jump to 383.3 million, at which point they will still trail notebook shipments, which the firm expects to hit 432 million units that year.

Similarly, last year Gartner found that after a notebook owner bought a tablet, 77 percent of them used their PCs less frequently. The important takeaway, though, is that they didn't stop using their notebooks altogether.
